Important information relating to credit reporting
This statement contains important information about credit reporting that applies to an individual if:
- you apply for credit to, or have credit provided by, Capital Finance Australia Limited (ABN 23 069 663 136, Australian Credit Licence 393031) (“Capital Finance”); or
- Capital Finance deals with you in connection with an application for credit made by another customer or credit provided to another customer (for example, you are a director or a shareholder of a company obtaining credit or a guarantor or proposed guarantor for that credit).
Capital Finance may disclose information about you to credit reporting bodies
Capital Finance may disclose credit-related personal information about you to credit reporting bodies. For example, we may do so where:
- you fail to meet your payment obligations to Capital Finance in relation to consumer credit; or
- you commit a serious credit infringement in connection with consumer credit provided by Capital Finance.
What credit reporting bodies do with information they receive
Credit reporting bodies are allowed under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Credit Reporting Privacy Code to handle personal information relating to credit.
Credit reporting bodies may include that information in reports that they provide to other credit providers to assist them to assess your credit worthiness (such as when you have applied for a loan from the credit provider).

Excluding your credit reporting information from pre-screening for direct marketing
Credit reporting bodies offer a service to credit providers wishing to send direct marketing material about credit services to individuals. This is called “credit pre-screening”. You have the right to request that a credit reporting body not use your credit reporting information for this purpose. You should contact Veda directly using the details set out above if you wish to request this.
Protecting your credit reporting information if you become the victim of fraud
You have the right to request that a credit reporting body not use or disclose your credit reporting information for a period if you believe on reasonable grounds that you have been, or are likely to be, the victim of fraud (this includes, for example, if you suspect that someone is using your identity details in connection with a credit application). You should contact Veda directly using the details set out above if you wish to request this.
Accessing or correcting your personal information or making a privacy complaint
You have the right to request access to personal information (including credit-related information) that Capital Finance holds about you, or seek correction of that information. You also have the right to make a complaint if you consider that Capital Finance has committed a breach of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) in relation to that information.
